To start at the beginning, as the song says, is a very good place to start. This is true of the Bible as well.
Beginning with God takes you on a journey through the first momentous chapters of the Bible, pausing to look at creation, the role of humanity in the world, the fall, the spread of sin, the flood and the tower of Babel.

About Pathway Bible Guides
Beginning with God is part of this new series of Pathway Bible Guides. They aim to provide simple, straightforward Bible study material for:
Accordingly, the studies are designed to be short, straightforward and easy to use, with an uncomplicated vocabulary. At the same time, the writers have tried to do justice to the passages being studied and to model good Bible-reading principles. They have tried to be simple without being simplistic; no-nonsense without being no-content.
The questions and answers assume a small group context but can easily be adapted to suit different situations, such as individual study and one to one.
Always have good bible study materials
This guide has been good at introducing the main themes of Genesis 1 - 12. The questions are helpful and quite clear, although I don't necessarily think that they are as simple to understand as the Pathway Bible Guide series aims to be. In some studies it would be helpful if the specific verse(s) being looked at were stated.
I would however recommend this guide for use with groups that need a study tha is straight forward.
We have used this resource with a group of around 6 ladies who are very new to the Christian faith. The foundationaly truths of our faith are studied with simple questions and discussion starters. This book is easy to use although the leaders also looked at Bible commentaries as well. I whole heartedly recommend this study book. My only reservation is that it doesn't cover the whole of Genesis.
i found the guide very good.being a new christian myself i found it very informative and will buy more pathway guides
This book of studies in Genesis - my first encounter with the Pathway Bible Guides - has been a delight so far. Here's hoping the rest of the series mirrors it in combining the clarity of focus and suggested questions with the facility to go as deep as the group can handle. Leaders' notes in the back share what each question is driving at, but still require the leader(s) and group members to study hard to mine the text. Less 'prosy' than the IBS series, so an especially good resource when the group is very mixed in what it can grasp in one go.
