The children in my class are aged 7-8 and have really enjoyed using the Following Jesus workbook along with the main Click unit for 8-11 year olds. As they are towards the lower end of the recommended age range, they often need quite a bit of help with the literacy demands of the booklet and often find it quite difficult to answer the more reflective or personalized questions. I like the fact that they can take the booklet home when we've finished the unit, and I hope that their parents will take the opportunity to look at it with them, talk about the content and fill in any gaps. I think the workbook is better than some of the other child components, which can be fiddly to store and make, and which don't work so well for children who attend more sporadically.
A good programme with lots of ideas to engage the kids and make learning about God's word fun and appropriate to them.
We are about half way through this little booklet and it seems very good for our youngsters. We are following Matthew so it needs a little tweaking. Our group has a mix of ages and it is a shame that the 5-7 set is so different. I like the Click resources but we would not use all the children' s components, we do like this booklet one however, excellent..
Very useful and easy to follow.
