Rachel Gilson was same-sex attracted and grew up in a spiritually apathetic family. But an identity crisis during college and a chance encounter with a copy of CS Lewis' Mere Christianity (which she stole) put her on a path toward meeting Jesus and finding belief in the God of the bible to be intellectually coherent.
In this episode we hear about Rachel's journey of coming out and coming to faith, from being someone who picked on the Christian kid at school to a full-time evangelist and speaker.
Rachel serves on the leadership team of Theological Development and Culture with Cru. Her writing has appeared in Christianity Today, Desiring God and The Gospel Coalition, and she regularly speaks at churches and on college campuses. Rachel holds a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a PhD in public theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She lives in the Boston area with her husband and daughter.
