This upcoming Christmas season is going to look different for everyone, but especially for pastors and ministry leaders. Most ministries and churches are facing new challenges, ever-evolving guidelines, and technological hurdles.
Whether you are meeting in-person or online, Christmas is a great opportunity to grow in the knowledge of the Lord together as God’s people and to share the good news of the gospel with the world.
We hope these ideas inspire you as you creatively carry on in your ministry to the glory of our Lord. There are some free resources, such as videos and illustrations, available here to help.
If you work in children’s ministry, you know that nothing can capture a child’s attention quite like a good story! There’s a Lion in My Nativity! is a fun way for kids ages 4-7 to see who Jesus is and why he came.
Don’t worry if your services are virtual, you can download and share this free video of the author reading the story, or you can make one of your own using these free digital illustrations. If you make your own video, just be sure to mention the author, illustrator, and publisher!
If you are meeting in-person, it would be really fun to bring all of the “out of place” props from the story to class, incorporating them into your story time and asking the kids to participate by holding the props or remembering what they represent.
Many of our other children’s books have free digital illustrations and read-along videos as well! You can find them all here.
Christmas is a great time of year to share Gospel hope with the world. If you are having an in-person Christmas service, giving away a resource such as J.D. Greear’s Searching For Christmas can be a great way for non-believers to take the Gospel message home with them.
You can watch and share J.D. Greear’s video about his new Christmas outreach title here, or you can view all of our Christmas outreach materials here.
You could also consider giving away our Christmas tract. Christmas hope in a covid world offers a warm, gentle introduction to the Christian message and is ideal to slip into a Christmas card or for churches to put through doors. You can find out more about the tract here. You can also check out our Hope Christmas card, featuring a matching design.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to serve you as you prepare for the coming Christmas season! Seriously, we love chatting with you as we serve alongside you. Feel free to give us a call or send us an email.
Whatever your ministry, we are praying for you as you plan out your Christmas services. We know that God’s Word never comes back void (Isaiah 55:11), so we praise God for all of your efforts for the Gospel and for his kingdom.
