Major expansion announcement from The Good Book Company

Tim Thornborough | 1 Apr 2016

We’ve chosen today to announce some major developments in the work and ministry of The Good Book Company.

Since we started over 25 years ago, we have always been committed to helping Christians and churches with innovative and quality resources. And we have also listened to our ministry partners to see if there are new ways we can serve you.

So today we are announcing three new divisions of The Good Book Company operations:

The Good Look Company
Looking Good — Staying Godly

We live in an image obsessed world. Traditionally Christians have followed one of two routes. They have either rejected the world’s values, and embraced being different in their lifestyle, clothing and practices. Or else they have sought to be in the world, but not of the world — avoiding it’s excesses and dangers, while showing that the Christian faith is not world denying.

Following the success of Compared to Her The Good Look Company is a new imprint that will offer lifestyle advice for Christians who want to look good, while remaining godly. Titles in the pipeline include I have nothing to wear — clothing advice from the Garden of Eden and Faith Lift — how to look 20 years younger without surgery.

Watch out for the launch of our own brand range of clothing in the autumn.

The Good Cook Company
Fabulous food and faithful fry-ups

Bake through the Bible was an amazing success for us — and it got us thinking.

Lots of Christian events involve food, and Christians need to eat healthily. Younger kids need to learn how. And an awful lot of adults still use the smoke detector as a kitchen timer. So we’ve launched this new imprint to produce cookbooks for church events, for teaching Bible stories and life skills, and for healthy living. The first new products will include titles like The Bible Cooking Bible; Gospel Goulash — cooking for evangelistic events; Pasta for Pastors by Rev Dr Al Dente,; and The All-American Breakfast by Chris P. Bacon and Mabel Sirrup.

And finally…

The Good Duck Company
Fun, feathers and a good looking bill!

There has been a growing trend for urban dwellers to get back to nature by keeping chickens in the back garden. We think this is a great thing for Christians to do. So in the spirit of encouraging pet diversity, this new division of the company will be selling houses, feed, equipment and birds for people to enjoy raising these quirky and attractive creatures in their own homes.

Not only will you be able to enjoy fresh duck eggs, but it will provide a fun alternative to that classic children’s group game: Duck Duck Goose.

An anonymous member of staff commented:

“We discovered that other Christian publishers were moving in on the home farming sector, so decided we needed to jump too. We’re hoping that we will be able to provide healthy competition to BRF’s Bantam Rearing Fellowship, SPCK’s new Division the Society for the Promotion of Chicken Koops [sic], CFP’s innovative Chicken Farming Publications, and of course Hen-of-those."

We’d love to hear your comments and suggestions for further areas we can get into that will help us grow together...

We are listening...
