Find out how to continue in Christ from 1 John, so that we will be confident and unashamed when he returns.
Part of the Good Book Guides series.
We live in an age of uncertainty: about ourselves, about the truths of the Christian faith, and about the future.
At a time when the first-century church had been invaded by false teachers, the apostle John knew that Christians who are not sure of God’s truth can wander away, never to return. He wrote to help his ‘dear children’, not only to know the real truth, but to be confident of it, and to rest upon it.
If then, why not today? We all urgently need to hear and obey God's loving message in this letter of John's. This Good Book Guide will help us continue in Christ, so that we will be confident and unashamed when he returns.

The Good Book Guides have been developed to ensure that each session not only seeks to uncover the meaning of the passage and see how it fits into the big picture of the Bible, but also leads people to apply what they have learnt to their lives. Flexible and practical, the Good Book Guides are ideal for small groups, or individual study.
"The format is very user-friendly and the content is rich and accessible."
- Justin Taylor, Gospel Coalition blogger and Vice-President of Editorial, Crossway
"God-centered, application-oriented, and driven by the text throughout, this resource is a gift to God’s church."
- Matt Smethurst, Gospel Coalition reviewer and Master of Divinity student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
Here at Covenant Life Church, we have greatly benefitted from the small group resources from The Good Book Company. Many small groups in our family life ministry have used "Colossians: Confident Christianity" in their study of scripture. Additionally, our youth ministry has used "Romans 1-5: God and You" in their small groups. Both resources were very easy to use, helped the reader engage directly with the scriptures, and had a wonderful pastoral emphasis demonstrated in all the questions.

Having used other Bible Study Resources I find this particular one to be much better. The only complaint I have is they are quite expensive. However our Group were quite happy to pay the cost. We will probably go with your Company in the future.

Used this for personal quiet time.
Clear notes aided study and prayer.
Clarity of layout facilitated process of spending quiet time with our Lord.
Excellent studies, I did this with a group of friend who are at different stages in their faith and understanding but it went down really well!! The questions were also great for discussion in a group. Would deff recomend.
The studies in this guide are about the right length - about an hour, but with extra bits that can be added if necessary.
The questions get to the heart of the passage and there is good guidance in the leaders guide at the back.
We used this as the "syllabus" for our church house groups. Each group leader followed the structure suggested by the study book. It was excellent in giving the flow of the section being studied, the main themes and always bringing it back to the main reason for John writing the letter. The questions were a great`help in bringing out the meaning of each session and stimulating discussion. Having the "leaders notes" at the back was a useful feature in that it left the basic structure of each study with minimal but sufficient detail. I highly recommend this study help.
We used these books in our mid-week home based bible study groups and they were very well received. The format was good, as was the content, and the leaders commented on the scope they had, to take the study to the depth required by their group. The leaders notes are very helpful and since they are in every book, any member who is interested can read them too.
We studied this book as a community group, and all found it excellent, challenging and very rewarding. Would highly recommend it!
We are using this book in a group of very new Christians and have found it very useful. The questions are provocative enough to spark good discussions, but not so in depth as to discourage someone with little Bible knowledge.
this is the third of these work books which I have worked through the first as part of my confirmation class, this one I have worked on with a small group but mainly on my own For me the overwhelming message which came through from this work book is John telling us that God through Christ Loves us, and that to be in Christ is to love one another. very good for new Christians like myself.
