Only on week 3 but already class more engaged, lots to think about and discuss, helps them to realise they know more than they thought. Great ideas to enhance the session
We are delighted with our new Click Sunday School materials. We chose to use the middle age range materials with a class which has all primary ages and adapt the follow up materials for the younger children.
So far both the teachers and children have given very positive feedback and enjoy the variety and choice available within each lesson. The posters and workbooks are good and the manual has lots of good, easy to follow ideas. It is good to find a sound, Bible- based resource which is attractive to both children and teachers.
Overall we are very pleased with the material and will certainly continue using it. One of the main advantages of Click is that the theme is developed in depth over 10 sessions, rather than chopping and changing every 3 or 4 weeks. It gives the children an overall sense of the chronology of the Bible and how it all fits together. The teaching is sound and biblical - and certainly not simplistic. We like the idea of the children's booklets which are completed each week and kept at church until the last session (as opposed to leaflets which invariably get left in the church hall or binned as soon as they get home). However we find the material assumes a relatively high level of literacy for junior aged children. A lot of it is simply too difficult and too much like school. There's also rather a lot of 'sit and listen whilst I talk at you' in the question and answer teaching sessions. I'm not sure whether you're supposed to sit with the book in front of you or memorise it all. I would definitely recommend Click, but with some reservations.
Really good age appropriate material. Slighly too long for our average session but easy to adapt and easy to leave little bits out without losing the message.
Extremely easy to use and easy to see the relevance of games etc. Something that is often lacking in other material.
This component of click, provides a fun and straight forward way to work your way through the book of Luke, either in a sunday morning or in schools. It provides clear, colorful and interesting booklets for the children to use, and offers a comprehensive and easy to use leaders manual. What is great is that you do not need to be an experienced teacher to follow the material nor is it labour intensive. The activities have really been though through so that the work the leader puts in achieve a recognizable and biblical outcome, rather then activities that look good but don't achieve a useful outcome. What else is worthwhile is at 13 pounds you can purchase a set of this material and get a really good look at what you about to teach before you decide.
