We gave the Pumpkin Story out to families at our Bright Light Party and they were well received. In redeeming something which often has a darker meaning with the life giving truth of Jesus, Ed Drew has given us a warm and faithful resource to share Jesus with families.
I recently had the pleasure of using the Pumpkin Story Gospel Tract for our children's club at church, and it was an incredible experience. The tract provided a solid foundation for a captivating story that resonated deeply with the children.
To bring the story to life, I used artificial grass and told a tale of a gardener who planted pumpkin seeds. The gardener took something ordinary and made it extraordinary, placing it back in the garden and encouraging the pumpkin to shine its light and share the gardener's story with other pumpkins. This visual and engaging narrative captivated the children and set the stage for a deeper message.
I then connected this story to the gospel, explaining how we are like the pumpkins with mess inside us, and God is like the gardener who transforms us. The children were mesmerised by the pumpkins and the message, making it a memorable and impactful lesson.
To add an extra touch, I attached sweets to the tract and handed them out to the children. This small gesture was a hit and made the experience even more enjoyable for them, and parents who stayed who got a chance to hear the gospel.
