Description

There is a free memory Verse card included in this issue that splits into four ways of learning Memory Verses from Exodus, Matthew and Acts.

One piece is a jigsaw puzzle, another a little mobile of planet earth, another piece folds into a picture frame and the last piece becomes a helicopter that is ready to fly in just two folds!

Issue Four of XTB is called Travels Unravelled. Three months of Bible readings to help you explore the very first Easter in Matthew's Gospel, wander through the wilderness with the Israelites in exodus, and join Paul as he travels to Rome in Acts. We'll dip into some of Paul's letter as well.

Other information

XTB (eXplore The Bible) is a series of daily Bible reading notes for children of the 7-11 age group, with puzzles, pictures and prayers.

XTB is beautifully presented with full-colour illustrations and is a series of 12 books which, if used on a quarterly basis, will help a child cover all of the main books, themes and characters of the Bible in 3 years.

Look out for Table Talk - a book of daily Bible times for families with children aged from 4 upwards. The Bible passages are the same each day for XTB and Table Talk - so you can use the two books together, or on their own. Whichever suits you best.

Customer reviews

“XTB collection is a brilliant way to study the bible with children of various ages.”

(Review written for 'XTB: The Collection')

The XTB collection is a great fun easy way to study scripture with children. The activities, puzzles and stop think and pray are a brilliant way to get children thinking and talking about God. The studies are age appropriate and help parents to explain bible passages and Christian living to children.

“Great meditation and devotion material for all ages”

(Review written for 'XTB: The Collection')

These are outstanding resources for meditations and devotions for all ages. We have our elementary-aged, middle school-aged, and high school-aged children all doing daily devotions that are based off of Scripture in light of the big picture of the gospel! My wife and I also are using this for us. Best resources I have found for family individual meditations on Scripture that are theologically sound.

“A great resource!”

My son is 8 years old and he really enjoys doing his own quiet time with this resource. He loves the puzzles and codes and finds the prayer suggestion at the end really helpful. My husband and I tend to support him as he does it but he is capable of doing it by himself. It has really helped his understanding of the books of Exodus and Acts. A great resource!

“Mostly enjoyed”

(Review written for 'XTB: The Collection')

I bought these for my seven-year-old as an introduction to reading the "real" Bible (as opposed to a storybook one). They're well pitched to the right level, and he mostly enjoys the activities - once or twice he's called one of them "boring", but that's probably because it's not a computer game or Pokemon-related! On the whole he focuses fairly well. The studies are the right length - short enough not to lose his attention - and the "extras" that come with some issues (stickers, prayer diary etc) keep it fresh - it would be nice to have something like that with every issue!

“Fantastic resource”

(Review written for 'XTB: The Collection')

I have been using these books for a while now as part of our homeschool. It’s so wonderful to see my kids learning to read and think about the Bible for themselves. In our family Bible time they will often say “I read about that in XTB!” I am buying now for my 3rd child after seeing the impact on my older two. I am hoping this is the start of a lifelong personal daily Bible Reading habit for them.

“Reasnoble Reading Level Required”

(Review written for 'XTB: The Collection')

If the child is a little younger they will still need to be acompanied. This is because there is normally between 2 and 8 verses to read from the Bible. The materials are particularly good for kids who like word games to fill out.

Theologically excellent.

“Great bible notes”

(Review written for 'XTB: The Collection')

My 6 year old loves these. We are half way through the first book and he is enjoying them - particularly the stickers and the codes. I thought it might be too advanced for him but he is understanding them and getting alot out of it.
