A Bible paraphrase that shows how every story points to Jesus.
The Moonbeam Award Gold Medal Winner in the religion category, The Jesus Storybook Bible tells the Story beneath all the stories in the Bible.
At the centre of the Story is a baby, the child upon whom everything will depend. Every story whispers his name. From Noah to Moses to the great King David - every story points to him. He is like the missing piece in a puzzle - the piece that makes all the other pieces fit together.
From the Old Testament through the New Testament, as the Story unfolds, children will pick up the clues and piece together the puzzle. A Bible like no other, The Jesus Storybook Bible invites children to join in the greatest of all adventures, to discover for themselves that Jesus is at the centre of God’s great story of salvation and at the centre of their Story too.

I highly recommend this storybook Bible. Adults will benefit from reading it through in one sitting. So will teenagers. But its intended audience is young children from 3 or 4 up to the end of primary school. I’d encourage parents and children’s ministry leaders to get a copy. Read it through first and then take it a chapter at a time.... continue reading
My 3yo loves to listen to her “Jesus stories” at bedtime. Reading them to her has shown me God’s love in new ways and it’s really quite emotive! We will read this for years to come (and I buy this for all christenings and dedications now)!
We love the Jesus Storybook Bible. It is so true to the big narrative of the bible, retelling familiar stories in accessible language that gets to the heart of the story and leading us appropriately to the centre of the bible story - the person of Jesus - on every occasion. We have bought it repeatedly for friends when they have children, and every one of them has come back & told us their children love hearing stories from it. Recently I gave it to an adult who has difficulty reading. He was attending Alpha and said he would like a Bible but couldn't read well enough to use one. I gave him this one, and he says the pictures, the style of writing, and the way the stories has told has helped him to understand the Bible for the first time in his life.
Love the way this book is written - definitely the best childrens Bible that I have come across, and one that stays true to the heart of the story without falling foul of thinking children need ever story to be a lesson in morals, therefore robbing the storys of the opportunity to reveal the Fathers Heart.
We used this book with our grandchildren (as did their parents) for telling them from an early age Bible stories that point out Jesus in so many ways. Good illustrations, but great Bible stories pointing all to Jesus.
For a young couple in church who had their first child, it was a no-brainer which book we would give their new born son to tell him of Jesus!
Fantastic bible! Beautiful pictures and everything is linked to jesus!
The hard cover ensures it will last years, and the stories and illustrations passionate adults and children. We were given this at our baby's dedication at church and ever since have bought it to offer too.
I haven't read the whole thing yet, but it's a great approach to biblical stories. It's NOT a BIBLE (in the sense that it doesn't contain all the chapters and verses), but a collection of Bible stories (or should I say, Biblical passages) recounted. It's a great addition to a children's Bible and I hope my kids will read it when they get old enough!
The stories we have read so far are very close to the text (not just "stories" but actual passages of the Bible) and there is always a conclusion that points to Jesus, which is really well done (it's done in a very natural way without implying that the passage itself points to Jesus). I totally recommend it!
I chose this lovely book for a Christmas gift as my Assistant Minister used it in church to talk to the children. Great to introduce children to God's Word & Truth!
We have been reading this to my daughter since her birth, and she enjoys the stories and illustrations very much. The theology is excellent, giving children a redemptive-historical hermeneutic from childhood. The stories are written in a beautiful and moving way; I tear up most every time I read it to her.
I have bought several copies of this book to give to children over the years. It is instantly appealing by its design and size and from the very first page the reader is drawn into the Biblical story with appealing illustrations and excellent writing that concisely describes each major theme, event and story whilst continually pointing to the One who will fulfil and make good all our stories. Easily understood by children and well-written enough to keep adults hooked. I am invariably moved to tears by it.
